 Deep
cultivation - Discordon +/or Topdown
|

In other conditions where soil preparation has to be deep (potato,
sugarcane,...), we recommend tools such as the Discordon or the Heliplow from Grégoire
Besson, or their ploughs (traditional or disc harrows types).
The Topdown, a new equipment designed by Väderstad, is also an outstanding tool in certain circumstances.
Afterwards, the Väderstad
Carrier (see "Shallow cultivation" page) will be perfect for appropriate leveling and consolidation
(direct drilling, disc harrows).

We also use tools (Synchrospire) from Franquet,
with their double rear coil, either alone or in combination with planters
(especially for onion planting in capping
soils).

Besson
This soil preparation tool is quite interesting in arid and tropical areas: it doesn't wear out as quickly as other
equipment in stony soils and gives better results than traditional plows in other soil types. Depending on your needs,
we will help you choose among a large range of possibilities: number of discs (up to 14), power (up to 300 horse
power).
Discordon
from Gregoire Besson
This tool will do an excellent job and can, of course be used after the
disk type plow if necessary. The X-shaped disk harrows are comprised of
4 disc gangs operating in a symmetrical way. Working depth is about 35 cm.
A roller can be mounted at the rear. It will reduce water evaporation
and facilitate seed germination if planting is done immediately after
soil preparation.
