Our selection of potato seed tubers adapted to
arid conditions
|
|
ICS know-how has, for 20 years, been focused on variety
selection, providing quality seeds (certified healthy tuber seeds from the best
origins - SOC certification) at a very competitive price. This year, our selection is a combination of free varieties such as Spunta, Nicola or Hermes and bred varieties for countries where we are the official brand distributor : Canelle or Elodie (created by Elorn Plants).

Solanum tuberosum
Potato
(Solanum tuberosum) is an annual plant native to South America.
It was introduced in Africa at the end of the 19th century and is
now widely grown in arid areas (mainly north and south Africa) for
the fresh market or processing industry.
Variety choice : key points
In arid areas, adapted varieties and high quality seed tubers at a reasonable
cost are difficult to find which often hinders production (Fontem et al, 1998): crops grown from
non-certified seeds have very low yield and are more sensitive to diseases and insects during growth and after
harvest. Seeds which are both resistant and healthy are therefore essential for profitable production.
